Family Memories at Fort Fisher . Photographer Wilmington NC

One of my favorite places in my town is the tree grove on the river at Fort Fisher, NC. The area is so peaceful to me...but it's history is certainly not. For those of you who do not know the area, it is a historical battleground from the Civil War. Some time ago, it was not as protected of an area and many history buffs would visit the grounds and find all sorts of cool treasures from the days soldiers occupied the area...bullets in trees, weapons, etc.

Recently, this family contacted me to have photos taken in this very spot because their dad was one of those treasure hunters and some of their fondest memories growing up included times spent among the trees! I loved getting to capture them in such a sentimental spot!

Jennifer, it's been a year since you helped our family capture these special moments and valuable time with our father. Daddy left us to be with Jesus this summer and I am so grateful to look back upon this through these wonderful pictures. The pictures can't fill the hole in our hearts but they help to heal the hurt of his loss as we look back and remember that day and smile seeing him so full of life and joy. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and making these pictures so special to us all. Your video has moved me again. So happy I found you for this special project.
