When I talk with clients about our upcoming session and they ask what to bring, I always remind them to bring something special from their home or family; something that has meaning or "a story" that they would like included in the photos in a creative way.
Sometimes it is a well loved blanket or stuffed animal. Other times, it is something like little Sailor is nestled on in this photo. The quilt she is resting so peacefully on was her moms from when she was little. How amazing that her mom kept it all these years to pass on and that they brought it to the session to include as part of Sailor's "story."
Another amazing piece of Sailor's family history has been preserved for her physically and now in these photos. Pictured here is the christening gown she will wear soon. It was also worn by her mom and many other family members. After capturing this photo, Sailor's mom told me she plans on sharing the photos with everyone who has worn it. How awesome...everyone can now cherish the memory of the gown in photos, telling their "story".
I knew from the very first photos I saw hanging on the walls in your home, that you were gifted with the art gene and the camera eye. I'm still amazed every time I see your shots. The icings on the cake when you can get paid for doing something that you love and are that good at. Keep up the good work, but enjoy yourself while you're doing it!!

Awesome Jenny. Go glad you are doing so much with what you love. Please don't give up your day job (at least for 1 more year, ha ha). I have pics of Alison and Emma in the christening gown that was worn by their great, great grandfather. Will cherish forever.
