I LOVE THESE PHOTOS! 

This session took place on the South End of Wrightsville Beach recently. It is Spring here and the crowds have not yet arrived nor the heat of summer. It was a recipe for perfection. Add this adorable set of first time parents and OMG. So simply dressed without a ton of fuss....the BEST way to have this first time experience captured. 

I am always in awe of us women...how our bodies morph into this host for another life. It never gets old to me. And when I am asked to honor this moment for a couple by capturing their photos I am simply thrilled.

I know we all carry our babies based on how our bodies are built and it is not always a time some women feel photogenic. BUT...as a young girl, I wanted to know so badly what my own mother looked like while she was carrying me. Pregnancy is a sacrifice of your body for the life you are growing. It is a time of great anticipation, excitement, fear and ALLLL the things that run thru our mind at that time.

To me, having pregnancy photographed is for the future...as many photos are....to preserve a visual memory of a time. It is not an act of vanity but more a visual documentation of how a woman looked when she was "growing" a life as compared to the mom children see today. It is a very short window of time compared to the years of raising children mothers experience. It's an intimate time for a mother as she feels those first flutters to full on field-goal kicks. No one else experiences these things but an expecting mother.
